Maysville – A young boy, Teddy Rogers, is devastated by a tragic accident and taken from his family to pay a penance which forces him into a life of hard labor. I really liked the movie till the end If her husband was dead and that mann didn't have a wife why couldn't they have gotten together and been a family and Teddy's brother was a little trouble maker always getting into something That's why he died If he would have lived Yeddy might not have grown up to be the fine man that he was Even though that man beat him and worked him hard it built character in Teddy Made him the hard working man he became Something I believe these kids now a days need to work hard and study hard and not be given everything without working for it and not deserving of it too many entitled children these days who will one day grow up and not know how to do anything It's the parents fault though cause they want to give them everything they didn't have but look how the kids are because if it Just saying

what a bad written movie plot. The boy was at least 10 years old when he was taken by the father of his dead friend. How can you forget how your mother looks after few years? how the law allows a minor stay with a stranger even with the minor's consent?

Finally, a great movie with no language
The best line was when Theo said, "Why thank you, Miss Smallwood. Have you met my Mister Bigwood?". This really was the pièce de résistance!
There is no way I would let some evil man just take my son, or let the police get away with being complicit and not doing their job. There would definitely have been some serious consequences!!! Also, I could not watch the movie because that evil man kept taking God's name in vain. And that was stupid for that young man to drop his bag of money, even though he would need money to start his life over again. How dumb to take his dead friend's jar of money, but then just drop the bag of money on the street outside that store.
