After a dormant volcano erupts miles outside of Los Angeles, something within the molten hot lava is awakened. Like some of the others that have posted. I, too, was about to pass on this. I checked out a review and saw the trailer then decided the spiders were too comic looking to scare me much (as far as nightmares). I really had spiders (and bugs in general).
I'm glad I watched it, it was a fun movie. I think it was something like a toned down version of Airplane, not as many sight gags though. I did like the references to other movies sprinkled throughout the movie.
Not really for younger kids, but mid to late teens and up would probably like it..
