Lake Effects – Sara and Lily grew up at Smith Mountain Lake. Sara became estranged from the family and without explanation moved to Los Angeles to study law. Her sister Lily, an artist, teaches locally and lives with their parents, Ray and Vivian, until Dad dies in an accident. Sara returns to help settle his estate, and all our ladies cross paths with an eclectic group of local oddballs, as they search for a Loch Ness-style monster they believe lurks in the lake’s depths. A few real Smith Mountain Lake characters make appearances. The next week at the lake is filled with adventure, tears, and laughter as Vivian and her two daughters finally understand, through the guidance of Dad’s spirit, if they still belong on the lake, even though Ray is gone. All paths converge at the Smith Mountain Lake Wine Festival, on course for a heart-warming and hilarious collision.

Show CommentsPeople want to know, which type of beauty I like
If somebody is able to prove it beautiful
can never go wrong with Jane Seymour 🙂
Sound is messed up going up and down. Lasted 15 min. BYE ✌🏻
Nice movie!!!
The lakeside scene was different.
Never seen anything like that.
Beautifully crafted emotional movie 🏆
Amazing, thank you
A "feel good movie"
Thank You
Charming film but I certainly wouldn't describe it as a comedy. However it does have some funny moments.
Good movie!
Very nice movie…made me miss my daughter so,so much😢😢…well acted, the scenery was very calming..
is this Jessica beils?
Except for the potty mouth n irreverence to our Creator, it was an emotional movie.
Grew up at Smith Mountain Lake. I’ve been going there since I could walk, I’m 46 now. The two plots of land my grandparents bought in the 70s for 15k are worth over a million. It’s hardly a down home vibe but it’s still magical and amazing.
Chick flick
Jane Seymour.. My all time favorite 😊😘😘🌹🌹
Madeline Zima looks exactly the same as she did as a child. I recognize her immediately she was in a lot of great movies as a kid
Is the younger sister played by the child star as Gracie in the TV show "The Nanny"?? 🤔🤔

Wow, I really truly enjoyed this movie. Totally a jump from one story to another which show many people involved good wholesome people. I got to give this movie
five stars.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Yep it sure deserve the five stars from love, romance, humour, comedy, from city life to country living what more do you want in one movie?

Is Jane Seymour's daughter playing in the movie.
I was pleasantly surprised at how good a movie this is. Without giving away anything I was very touched.
This was a precious and very comforting film. Great characters and character development. The setting is really beautiful as well.
Luavar dracu ca traduceti numai ce vreti voi
I don’t understand why this movie was labeled as a comedy show. It begins with a death and just gets worse. Very depressing 😢
Sweet movie❤
A beautiful film it made me feel so many emotions from…cold/stiff to warmth…to sadness … to funny … LOL 😃😆 …to happy of the reunion of People… I heard said not sure who exactly but this it “ in the end all that remains is LOVE “ … I truly enjoyed it from beginning to end I was with you there … maybe it is a ‘magical lake’ 😲? Thank you, well done ❤️💋
Why Hollywood thinks to curse God and Jesus in a film makes it more better just shows how lost they are forever!!!
Ugh… I ploughed through this movie because of the positive comments… but wish I had the time back. ALL characters were dysfunctional. Nothing charming / cute / heroic about any of it.
Great movie…as a 58yrs old single mother of 3 grown daughters. I lost my father and wish I could talk to him again. I do volunteer and try to enjoy life day by day. But I do kiss the great male role model who love me very much. I was super blessed.
